About the Republican Party of India
The Republican Party of India (RPI) was envisioned by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar to promote social justice, equality, and empowerment of marginalized communities. Though he announced its formation on 30 September 1956, Dr. Ambedkar passed away before its launch. His followers carried forward the mission, and on 3 October 1957, the RPI was officially established at Nagpur, with N. Sivaraj as its first President. Since then, the party has worked to uphold Ambedkar’s ideals of equality and social transformation.
